The coordinator will assist the Director of Residence Life/Student Conduct in developing, coordinating, and evaluating a residence life program for Penn College students. The Coordinator will be responsible for the daily operations related to a designated residential area. Will address and resolve student problems in the residence hall including disciplinary situations, personal and interpersonal difficulties, referring more difficult situations to the supervisor or the Vice President for Student Affairs; and supervise a staff of Resident Assistants.  This is a 10-month position, who will work a 211-day calendar, which will start as soon as feasible.  The selected candidate will be required to live in College-owned housing with apartment provided.  

Minimum qualification include Bachelor’s degree with significant experience in residence life supervising a residence facility; prior experience in Residence Life, whether at the paraprofessional, graduate, and/or professional level; interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively and courteously with students, staff, and the public in an active environment; ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form; ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships on campus and in the community; sensitivity to issues of student development, diversity, special population needs, and multicultural issues;  evidence of creativity and ingenuity in developing programs and solving problems; developed organizational skills; self-starter; and ability to train and motivate people.
