Job Summary/Basic Function:
The College of Education at the University of North Texas seeks a nationally recognized scholar to fill a tenured full professor position and also to hold the Meadows Endowed Chair for Excellence in Education. The appointment, which begins fall 2019, is in the Department of Teacher Education and Administration, one of four departments in the college. The successful individual will join a faculty that is dedicated to quality in education and scholarship and that seeks to make significant contributions at local, state, national, and international levels.

The successful candidate will be expected to maintain an active research program of national significance, to procure external funding to support research, to mentor graduate students, and to collaborate with faculty and external agencies to achieve the academic goals of the university. In addition, he or she will be expected to engage in teaching graduate and undergraduate courses and to contribute service to the department, College of Education, and the University of North Texas. Service on dissertation committees, including the chairing of dissertations, is expected.

Minimum Qualifications:
The candidate should hold a doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction, Teacher Education, or a related area, and must be qualified to assume the rank of full professor with tenure. Also required is a strong and sustained record of research with an identified scholarly focus, a record of success in securing external funding for research, and a clear agenda for substantive work in the future. The candidate's research should align with one or more of the following areas: language and literacy studies, STEM/STEAM education, or teacher education. Teaching experience in public schools and/or other educational settings is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
At least three years of teaching experience in EC-12 settings is preferred.
