Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor in Human Development and Family Science

The University of Georgia College of Family and Consumer Sciences is seeking applications from an engaging and experienced scholar-practitioner to provide instruction and supervision to undergraduate and graduate students. The position is 75% teaching and 25% clinical training/research, nine-month academic year appointment, non-tenure track with the possibility of additional summer teaching. This faculty position will enhance the academic and professional development of students in the Department of Human Development and Family Science bachelor’s, dual degree (BS/MS), and master’s degree programs. This Clinical Faculty person will serve as Child Life Coordinator, will supervise academic and clinical training of students, and build collaborations with local, regional, and national professional organizations and training sites to provide students applied learning in practica and internships. Classroom and online instruction are expected, along with writing and involvement in relevant contracts and grants.

The position will teach six undergraduate and/or graduate courses each academic year, supervising majors, supporting their professional development in community-based placements. This person will participate in department, college and university governance, as well as in the Association of Child Life Professionals (ACLP) and other relevant professional organizations. The successful candidate will contribute to presentations and scholarly publications relevant to the practice, and translation of science to practice through relevant grants and contracts.
