JOB OVERVIEW
The Program for Inter-professional Practice and Education (PIPE) Specialist works closely with the PIPE program director and faculty leadership from four different schools (Schools of Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy) and the Physical Therapy graduate program to develop programs that support the program’s strategic direction and creating and managing long-term goals and overseeing operations of the PIPE program.

PIPE Specialist responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Organizing programs and activities in accordance with the mission and goals of the program which may include teaching and learning activities, program curriculum, learner scheduling, maintaining databases, tracking learner compliance, and learner assessment activities
Developing new programs to support the strategic direction of the program
Creating and managing long-term goals
Monitoring funding and managing resources for the program
Conducting program evaluation and implementation of changes and interventions to ensure program goals are achieved
Outreach to program stakeholders (school leadership, faculty, students, clinical entities/partners, university collaborators)
Collaborating with faculty leadership from each school in the development and implementation of interprofessional curricula in classroom and clinical settings
Coordination of logistics with Executive Vice Chancellor & Provost (EVCP) administrative support
Assists with dissemination of program outcomes to stakeholders and at regional, national and international conferences.

The PIPE Specialist applies extensive knowledge of professional health education programs and policies to manage program activities, which may include teaching and learning activities, program curriculum, learner scheduling, maintaining databases, tracking learner compliance, and program accreditation. Participates in strategizing, planning, and implementation of substantial program improvements of large scope and high degrees of complexity. 

 Please note: This is a full time contract position for one year from date of hire (with potential for renewal).

EXECUTIVE VICE CHANCELLOR & PROVOST - PIPE PROGRAM
The Program in Interprofessional Practice and Education (PIPE) is responsible for promoting and developing inter-professional learning opportunities for learners in the Schools of Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy and the Graduate Program in Physical Therapy. In addition, the PIPE program promotes inter-professional practice at UCSF and its affiliated clinical partners. PIPE provides inter-professional competencies, guidance and oversight for interprofessional learning experiences for health professions students in the Schools of Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, and Pharmacy, and the Graduate Program in Physical Therapy and fosters faculty and staff to lead, teach and develop inter-professional practice and education. PIPE fosters research in inter-professional education and collaborative practice and identifies and assists with grant submissions to grow the evidence base for inter-professional practice and education.

PIPE operates within the Executive Vice Chancellor & Provost (EVCP) organization which is the central administrative organization for UCSF academic and research enterprise functions. The EVCP organization supports diverse interests and campus constituencies including faculty, students, and staff, as well as the community at large.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Education, Public Health, Public Policy or related field and five or more years of related experience; and / or equivalent experience / training
Minimum five years of prior experience in educational program management
Advanced knowledge of a health professions education program curriculum and requirements.  Maintains a broad range of expertise in health professions education theory and best practices
Advanced knowledge of administrative analysis and operations research. Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge and skills to develop and implement complex processes and systems improving program quality and efficiency and reducing cost
In-depth knowledge of educational software and technologies to promote a wide-range of teaching and learning goals
In-depth knowledge of data management, documentation methods used in investigating and presenting findings about the program
Skills to evaluate issues and identify solutions within defined procedures and policies. Demonstrated ability to solve problems and suggest solutions through critical thinking process
Excellent communicator, includes verbal and written, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising and counseling skills. Ability to handle sensitive personal information with appropriate discretion and judgment
Advanced interpersonal skills. Skills to work collaboratively, coordinate and integrate with others throughout the organization. Successful experience working with people with a wide range of backgrounds and skills
Advanced organizational and project management skills. Ability to lead a team, prioritize personal and team tasks and see projects through from inception to completion on schedule
Advanced personal organization skills and ability to apply to administration of the entire program including organizing critical files for compliance
Demonstrated leadership skills in training and guiding employees on educational techniques. Motivates and inspires staff to improve the health profession education services


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master's degree in Education, Public Health, Public Policy or related field and / or equivalent experience / training
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, Qualtrix, and learning management systems
