The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine is seeking a qualified Division Chief for its Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition. The candidate will be at the (Associate) Professor level of the clinical educator or tenure track., have an MD/DO, be board-certified/eligible in Pediatrics and Pediatric Gastroenterology, and licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Florida.

The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine is the highest-ranked private medical school for research in Florida and the first accredited medical school established in the state. With more than 1,900 faculty, the Miler School of Medicine is committed to cutting-edge research in genetics, stem cell sciences, diabetes, cancer, public health, and emerging fields such as precision medicine. The Pediatric GI Division is part of the University of Miami's Department of Pediatrics- the second largest department on campus with 135 faculty, 12 divisions, and 2 dedicated research enters spanning the breadth of multidisciplinary pediatrics and clinical, translational, and basic sciences research.

The Pediatric GI Division operates a busy inpatient service in an urban setting with an international referral base. Patients are seen at the USNWR- ranked 250-bed Holtz Children's Hospital at Jackson Memorial Hospital of Jackson Health System- the third largest hospital system in the U.S.- and the Mailman Center for Child Development, the Batchelor Children's Research Institute, and the Elaine and Sydney Sussman Family Crohn's and Colitis Center. Outpatient services occur at several sites throughout Miami-Dade and Broward counties. The Division offers dedicated expertise in clinical areas such as inflammatory bowel disease, hepatology, intestinal rehabilitation, nutrition, and transplantation. The Pediatric Gi Division is fully integrated with the Miami Transplant Institute which offers internationally renowned programs in solid organ transplantation and has a large and successful pediatric liver and intestinal transplant program. The Department of Pediatric trains nearly 130 house staff per year, including 88 residents and 3 GI fellows.
