Job Summary: The Center for Veterinary Health Sciences, Oklahoma State University is seeking applications for a tenure track position in Veterinary Physiology (Open-rank). Candidates must have a minimum of a Ph.D. in a relevant field, with a DVM degree desirable but not required. Responsibilities of the position will encompass the traditional responsibilities of a land grant university, including research, teaching of systems physiology to professional and graduate students, and service on departmental and college committees which will not exceed 10% of the individual's effort. The precise breakdown of the appointment will be determined in consultation with the candidate based upon their primary interests. The Department of Physiological Sciences encompasses the disciplines of physiology, anatomical sciences, pharmacology, and toxicology. Departmental faculty members are funded by the NIH, including a recent COBRE center grant for respiratory infectious diseases, the Department of Defense, USDA, American Heart Association, and other extramural agencies. Particular areas of strength for the department include comparative exercise physiology, endocrinology, aging, diabetes, infectious respiratory disease, and novel treatments for cancer including nanoparticles, lasers, and thermal energy modalities. Preference will be given to those candidates with professional interests that fit within the existing departmental programs.
