Job Description

The Product Manager is a person who is deeply connected to the world of digital video entertainment; a person who understands consumer behavior (data driven) and evolving trends with respect to video consumption on traditional platforms (e.g., linear TV) and emerging platforms and devices. The Product Manager will be responsible for creating applications that lead the consumer through a funnel of activity that runs from video selection and viewing, through deeper engagement and into a CRM relationship with the service. This position's primary responsibility is to oversee product initiatives as well as to scope out the technical feasibility of the initiatives. The ideal candidate will have an in-depth understanding of Agile software development methodologies, web and mobile application development, web and application programming languages and project management best practices so as to be able to effectively manage multiple concurrent projects. As an ad-supported business, the Product Manager will need to ensure that innovative advertising products are developed that not only address the desires of brand marketers, but also enhance the overall consumer experience.

The Product Manager will be an individual contributor and will report into the Digital Platform Group and will work alongside a team of product managers each tasked with owning a particular platform or user experience.

Responsibilities:

* Author detailed product requirements documentation for features and experiences tasked with managing.

* Create wire-frames, flow charts and user stories

* Work with technical teams to ensure products operate to the documented specifications

* Work closely with business stakeholders to ensure specifications include all requirements

* Lead internal and external development resources to ensure products are built to the specifications

* Develop and track all key metrics for each product.

* Will be business owner for product assigned.

* Own long term roadmap for a specific product to ensure all meet business objectives

* Relationship management with stakeholders

* Maintain and support currently deployed products, including off-hours escalation procedures

* Keep abreast of industry trends and technologies, and be prepared to apply them quickly

* Ensure that all new features, enhancements, applications are viable across all territories/implementations while holding true to our clients look and feel.

* Manage a cross functional team of designers, project managers, product managers and engineers.

* Manage project development from initiation to closure

* Light QC during development and implementation to ensure products are built and deployed according to specifications

* Track and report on project milestones and provide status reports to sponsor.

* Spec out new platform and device SDK's, documenting features, capabilities and restrictions for broader product development and engineering teams

* Monitor current applications and platforms and create real-time dashboards to track performance of applications and to diagnose or develop new features or problem areas.

* Author usage documents of all new functionality for use by our clients operational teams

Requirements:

* The candidate must have a BS, BA, or advanced degree in computer science, communications or related field, or relevant work experience

* Background in the building and operating one of the following type of products: content management systems, web, mobile or connected TV

* Background in operations, setup or QA work

* Experience in managing high quality streaming service whether live or VOD

* Experience in managing subscription or heavy user acquisition businesses

* At least 2-3 years of Product Management experience in the digital media field

* Experience leveraging and interacting with all social media platforms

* Understanding of HTML, CSS, Javascript and other web presentation technologies

* Understanding of streaming media protocols such as HLS, Smooth Streaming, etc.

* Demonstrated ability to work on a diverse scope of projects requiring detailed analysis, creative/practical problem solving, and sound judgment

* Ability to operate effectively in a team-oriented and collaborative environment.

* Must demonstrate solid organization/communication skills

* Agile and/or PMP Certification desired
