Lecturer in Cinema of Iran

The Department of Film and Media Studies at the University of California, Irvine seeks a part-time, non-tenure track lecturer to teach one course on the Cinema of Iran in Fall Quarter 2017. The course will be cross listed with the minor in Persian Studies. Students outside of the Film & Media Studies major and Persian Studies minor will be permitted to enroll.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Film & Media Studies or a related field. The ideal candidate will be able to introduce students to the study and analysis of Iranian cinema from historical, theoretical, political, and formal perspectives. The ideal candidate will have experience in teaching undergraduate students from a wide variety of backgrounds.

The current salary rate per course is $6,512.37, paid over three months (based on an annual salary of $52,099). Service dates are September 25, 2017 through December 15, 2017, and the pay period is October 1, 2017 through December 31, 2017.
