Job Description Summary: The Classics Department at Furman University announces a one-year position at the level of visiting assistant professor to begin August 2017. We seek a broadly trained classicist who can teach Greek and Latin at all undergraduate levels. The successful candidate will teach the introductory sequence in Latin, as well as intermediate Greek and Classics courses in translation. We especially welcome candidates with a thoughtful approach to language pedagogy in a liberal arts context. The teaching load is five courses per year divided over two semesters.
