Rowan University is a comprehensive state-designated research institution with approximately 16,000 students. Major Duties:

  • Greet and assist customers by effectively communicating accurate information when answering questions, making appointments and providing services in-person, over the phone and via e-mail.
  • Coordinate the addition and removal of advisors in cooperating with the Rowan Success Network for all students for 5,000+ students.
  • Schedule appointments for all academic advisors under University Advising Services through the Rowan Success Network or through Outlook if necessary.
  • Schedule meetings and other engagements for the Vice President for Enrollment and Student Success.
  • Maintain student records by forwarding to the correct department as needed.
  • Oversee the UAC email and review, sort and forward to the correct individual.
  • Complete change of major forms, verify student information on banner system, initial copy of COM form to indicate correctness, giving students names, e-mails and locations of advisor in their new major and forwarding to the registrar for processing.
  • Utilize word processing for documents, mails, etc.
  • Primary responsibility for all office duplicating.
  • Collect and check time sheets for accuracy from student workers. Input and approve time sheets on Banner system on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Handle the addition of professional staff members to the Starfish Program.
  • Coordinate with the Academic Success Center the addition and removal of basic skills holds.
  • Register students for Rowan Seminars and other appropriate courses.
  • Primary responsibility for the tracking and ordering of supplies as needed.
  • Utilize Self Service Banner and Excel to generate electronic files and hard copy worksheets for the purpose of advisor outreach to students with GPA below 2.0, over 90 credits, not yet registered, having 6 flags in RSN, etc.
  • Assist in the coordination of all University Advising Center events, including workshops, webinars, professional development seminars, orientations, and the NACADA Drive-In Conference.
  • Hire, train and oversee student worker staff and delegate job assignments such as processing change of major forms, filing and delivering student files, and other duties as needed.

  • Candidates will be required to take and pass a typing test at 40 wpm or higher or show proof of passing a NJ CSC test or Rowan University typing test in the past. The test will only be scheduled for candidates selected for interview.
