Frostburg State University, Division of Student Affairs, seeks applications for the full-time, exempt position of Director of Counseling and Psychological Services to begin summer 2017. Salary commensurate with experience and includes University System of Maryland benefits package.

Accredited by the International Association of Counseling Services, Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) at FSU offers a variety of counseling and developmental services to help facilitate the academic, career, and personal development of students. Confidential individual and group counseling services are provided by Licensed Psychologists, Pre-doctoral psychology interns, and Practicum students. A part-time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner provides medication monitoring services.

Responsibilities: Reporting to the Vice President of Student Affairs, the Director will provide overall administrative oversight for CAPS clinicians and clerical staff to meet the mental health needs of FSU students. The Director will facilitate and/or provide counseling sessions, outreach programming, consultation, training, supervision of Pre-doctoral and Master’s-level interns, and crisis intervention. The Director also will oversee the process to obtain APA accreditation for the Pre-doctoral internship program. Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: Doctorate in Counseling Psychology, Counseling, or Clinical Psychology. Five or more years of counseling experience including at least three years working in a college or university counseling center. Current licensure and eligibility for licensure as a Maryland psychologist will be required within six months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications: Three or more years of experience working in a supervisory capacity, preferably as a Director at a college or university counseling center.
