Assistant Director for Enrollment Management
The Assistant Director will work with the Enrollment Management team and report to a senior member of the team. This is an entry level, generalist position. There are multiple positions within the division and responsibilities will be position specific.
Assistant Director responsibilities may include: assisting with the creation and maintenance of reports, data entry, data loading, management of technical systems and operational processes in one of the offices of Enrollment Management. Responsibilities involve coordinating a daily and weekly schedule of reports and processes utilizing the Student Information System, third party systems, and from Customer Relationship Management systems using Microsoft Access and Excel; monitoring the consistency, quality, and integrity of data within a large integrated database as well as longitudinal tables; analyzing, validating and summarizing data in preparation for generation of statistical and analytical reports, and interpreting research data as appropriate; complete surveys for State, Federal and local agencies; ad hoc reporting; execution of the operational process for admissions applicants including generating print communications and managing communication flow timelines; performing quality controls to ensure communications and data are accurate; supervising a support team, which includes managing their assignments and workload. This person will provide technical support for current applications and processes, retention management, and other duties as assigned.
Candidates must be able to organize and handle all aspects of administration and adhere to the rules and regulations of Hofstra University, the Colonial Athletic Conference, and the NCAA. This position participates in interdepartmental meetings, committees, and taskforces. Interacts with all levels of faculty, staff and administration campus wide.
Bachelor’s degree required. Candidate must be proficient in complete Microsoft Office suite of applications. Prior experience in creating, writing, importing and querying databases using MS Access is required. Experience using Microsoft Excel to present data in tables and charts is also required. Experience with any of the following are a plus: Student Information Systems, preferably Ellucian's Banner; Customer Relationship Management software, preferably Salesforce & TargetX; Application Management Solutions, preferably Hobson’s ApplyYourself & Liaison CAS, digital document management systems; Oracle; and SQL.
The successful candidate must be detail oriented, have strong follow-through skills, and possess excellent analytical, technical and communication skills. The candidate must also be able to prioritize daily assignments while handling ad hoc projects and interacting with different levels of management.
Extended hours, which may include evenings and weekends, are required in support of daily production, special projects, events and deadlines.
