Primary Function of Organization Unit: The mission of the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid is to deliver a quality, affordable education to all students, regardless of their financial circumstances. The office administers a comprehensive array of programs (need and merit-based) to more than 23,000 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students annually, committing and disbursing in excess of almost $300 million per year.

Essential Job Duties: Assistant Directors are responsible for the major programmatic functions in the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid, and also responsible for counseling financial aid populations of approximately 2,800 students each.

Minimum Education/Experience: Master's degree or Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of three years of relevant experience in administering scholarship and/or financial aid programs.

Department Required Skills: Master's degree strongly preferred, bachelor's degree required; a minimum of three years of relevant experience in scholarship and/or financial aid programs; thorough knowledge of administering rules and regulations governing state and federal student aid programs; exceptional written and oral communication skills, along with demonstrated leadership and counseling skills; strong interpersonal and customer service skills. In some cases, individuals may possess an unusual aptitude for this level of responsibility and may lack one or more of the above skills. Nonetheless, each of the above requirements is expected of the overwhelming majority of successful candidates.
