Duties: The Associate Director, Financial Operations, will provide oversight, guidance, assistance, and training for Provost Center BA's in areas including financial and tax reporting, year-end closing, purchasing, accounts payable, Procards, petty cash, payroll, journal entries, safeguarding of assets, gifts/endowments/grants, T&E expense, etc. This role will perform audits and follow-up on findings; serve as expert, hierarchy manager, and access administrator for financial systems and provide support/training as needed; assume a lead role in system upgrades and new system implementations and in the related training/support; communicate policy/procedure updates to BA's and, if applicable, assist them with implementation/application; oversee financial operations for those areas without a Business Administrator; and perform ad-hoc financial analyses and make recommendations.

Qualifications: BA/BS in accounting or related field; 5-7 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of experience and education; experience in financial operations, systems, reporting, and analysis required; strong analytic, research and problem solving skills required; good communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for this role; excellent computer skills, including strong knowledge of Excel; experience in higher education preferred; knowledge of University of Pennsylvania accounting systems preferred, but not required.
