The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine's Department of Surgery - Oncology has an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Associate. This position performs research activities and experiments in the laboratory on several aspects of research projects. The Postdoctoral Associate should be familiar with concepts in some of the following areas: cellular and molecular biology, oncology, and immunology as well as animal handling. The Postdoctoral Associate assists the Principal Investigator and ensures that all experiments are appropriately conducted following policies and procedures of the University of Miami. This position requires advanced knowledge and capability to exercise independent judgment when carrying out research activities and performing non-routine and complex laboratory projects. Advanced knowledge of pancreatic diseases and pancreatic cancer biology is preferred but not mandatory.

The minimum qualifications for this position are as follows: Ph.D. M.D./Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Oncology or a closely related field of study; or M.D. or the equivalent M.B.B.S. Candidates must have successfully defended their thesis to be eligible for consideration. Good computer skills with experience using Microsoft PowerPoint and other graphic related software preferred. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with good command of the English language.
