Vice President for Enrollment Management
Newbury College, in partnership with the national search firm of Scott Healy & Associates, invites applications and nominations for the position of Vice President for Enrollment Management. Reporting to the President of the College, the Vice President serves as a member of the President’s Cabinet and participates in institution-wide enrollment strategy planning and policy development. The Vice President will be responsible for the development, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of the College’s strategic enrollment initiatives and outcomes, while providing vision and leadership to the College in all areas of enrollment management. He/she will provide leadership in designing the College’s enrollment strategies, financial aid optimization and is expected to make sophisticated use of high-quality, data-driven, evidence-based enrollment decisions, and utilize best practices in enrollment management. The College seeks a dynamic and committed leader to inspire the next stages of Newbury College’s enrollment management vision. Working with the President, the cabinet, faculty, students, alumni, and the entire College community, the Vice President will be called upon to lead all enrollment management efforts. By doing so, the Vice President will ensure that Newbury College continues to fulfill its mission in service to its students and the community.
Qualifications: The successful candidate should possess: a strong history of progressively more responsible leadership positions in the enrollment management arena; experience as a proven, decisive, highly skilled manager, who is open, flexible, and respectful of alternative points of view, and very experienced in a collegial environment; considerable experience in data-driven enrollment operations that result in sustained growth in enrollment, academic quality, and diversity; a strong understanding and experience in financial aid leveraging; experience in building and sustaining a strong unified enrollment team; the ability to work with academic affairs, including faculty, to ensure the effective recruitment of students; eight (8) years of experience in higher education; a Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s degree preferred); a comprehensive understanding and appreciation for the importance of Newbury College’s mission as it relates to achieving enrollment objectives; an appreciation of small, tuition-driven institutions and how the enrollment management function impacts the success of these institutions; the ability to shape and inform a comprehensive marketing and communications plan for the college in conjunction with other senior leadership; the ability to assist the Dean of Student Success in crafting and implementing retention strategies to improve student persistence.
