Jackson Community College is looking for an individual to be responsible for the support and administration of many key business systems, including the software front-end and the back-end database and server technologies. Responsibilities also include the development and support of business intelligence/reporting tools.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsible for specification, support, upgrades, and routine maintenance of software and databases systems including room scheduling software, MPSERS, MESC, inventory control, room access control, projects, fundraising and gift giving.

Maintains SQL and related back office database technologies. Researches and evaluates new querying, reporting, and programming applications. Installs, tests and supports data-mining tools, components and related software upgrades.

Uses advanced programming techniques to efficiently program technology monitoring and planning tools based on measurable performance indicators.

Administers active directory domain services functions including account and group maintenance.
Creates documentation, support, and web-based materials for the promotion and explanation of Information Technology services and operations.

Knowledge of:
* advanced features within Windows desktop operating system (current version)
* advanced features within Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Visio and PowerPoint - current version)
* at least one mainstream programming language (C++, VB, Business Intelligence Development Studio, PowerShell, etc.)
* SQL database terminology, design strategies, and programming/documentation
* business intelligence applications (SQL Server Reporting Services, SQL Server Integration Services, Business Objects, Cognos, etc.) and business intelligence data models
* helpdesk software (current apps and versions)
* Microsoft Active Directory Domain Services (current version)
* web server technology (IIS, Tomcat) is preferred
* advanced features of Windows Server (current version)

* effectively use industry standard project management techniques

* develop and conduct one-on-one and group instruction
* work with confidential records related to the position

* work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community

The knowledge, skills and abilities required are often obtained by completing a Bachelor's degree (B. A.) or by working two to four years in a related position or equivalent combination of education and experience.
