The Assistant Director will work with the Graduate Admissions Operations team and report to the Director of Operations. This position will be responsible for managing and executing communications from the Office of Graduate Admissions to prospective students and constituents, developing and presenting content and ideas for electronic campaigns, invitations, articles, letters, brochures, web and other related marketing and promotional material. The candidate will work in multiple systems including Microsoft Office and third party email clients to create communication flows and generate mailing lists and email communications. This position monitors all aspects of the communication operation. Ad hoc reporting is also a key element of this position.
The Assistant Director will be required to extract data from the student information system (Ellucian Banner) using MS Access and Excel. This involves using data from a large integrated database (200,000+ records) as well as longitudinal tables. The individual must also coordinate a weekly schedule of reports and processes related to communications. This includes analyzing, validating and summarizing data in preparation for communications and synthesizing data related to outcomes of communication efforts. This person will also work with the operations team and assisting colleagues with other admissions processes, general office computer support and other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree required. At least one year experience in creating, writing, importing and querying databases using MS Access is required. Experience with on-line student information systems, preferably Ellucian Banner; candidate must be proficient in complete Office suite applications. Prior use of Hobsons and HTML format is a plus. Applicant must have a strong grasp of the English language including spelling, meaning, rules of grammar and composition. The successful candidate must be detail oriented, have strong follow-through skills, possess excellent analytical and communication skills and be able to prioritize daily assignments, while handling ad hoc projects to meet tight deadlines and interact with different levels of management. Successful candidate must be available to work evenings and weekends as needed.
