Job Description: This position is responsible for the protection and well being of the students, visitors, staff and facilities of Harper College.
Duties of Position: Duties include the protection of life and property, prevention of crimes, preservation of peace, enforcement of laws and ordinances, and the arrest and prosecution of violators.
Education Requirements: Must have a Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice or related field OR the combination of college education and experience; at least 21 years of age; a US citizen; possess a valid Illinois driver's license; and successfully complete a background investigation, medical exam, psychological evaluation, polygraph exam and oral interview.
MUST BE POLICE OFFICER BASIC ACADEMY CERTIFIED BY THE ILLINOIS LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAINING & STANDARDS BOARD (ILETSB) or successfully complete within 6 months of hire date.
Must pass the ILESTB P.O.W.E.R. test.
Experience Requirements: Must have completed or will complete several law enforcement, medical, and hazardous materials courses.
