Job Description: This position is responsible for the protection and well being of the students, visitors, staff and facilities of Harper College.
Duties of Position: Duties include the protection of life and property, prevention of crimes, preservation of peace, enforcement of laws and ordinances, and the arrest and prosecution of violators.
Education Requirements: Must have a Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice or related field OR the combination of college education and experience; at least 21 years of age; a US citizen; possess a valid Illinois driver's license; and successfully complete a background investigation, medical exam, psychological evaluation, polygraph exam, oral interview and the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board (ILETSB) Police Officer Wellness and Evaluation Report (P.O.W.E.R.) test.
Possess Basic Police Officer certification or successfully complete a Basic Police Officer Academy within six months of hire date.
Experience Requirements: Must have completed or will complete several law enforcement, medical, and hazardous materials courses.
Annual medical examination and passing the ILETSB (P.O.W.E.R.) test required.
