Job Description: This position is responsible for project management and systems integration planning and implementation for all major lab support projects, desktop installations, and software investigation. Performs a liaison function between the academic community clients, the administrative community clients and Information Technology.
Duties of Position: Duties include 1) support the Student Portal, Blackboard and other student related systems as a Student Service Desk analyst 2) answer phone calls, resolve the call or log the call into a database for resolution by second-level support, 3) help assist students on a walk-in basis, 4) assist students on a face-to-face basis during peak registration periods, 4) assist with the Employee Technical Skills Training program in training employees on IT related systems, 5) any other project management as needed.
Education Requirements: Associates Degree or 2 years of Harper Information Systems experience or equivalent experience and preferred certifications.
Experience Requirements: A strong exposure to a wide variety of operating systems as well as software packages for both PC, MAC and UNIX based systems; some exposure to mainframe environment is also expected; a basic understanding of relational databases and case tools is suggested; and understanding of management skills and good communication skills required.
Special Requirements: Work is primarily indoors and worker is subject to such hazards as electrical currents. Physical activities include light to medium work of up to 50 lbs. which includes lifting and moving computers, peripherals and related furniture or equipment.
