Program Director, Physician Assistant Program
Position Summary: Governors State University's College of Health and Human Services is seeking to fill the position of Program Director, Physician Assistant Program. The chief responsibilities of this position are 1) direct and oversee the personnel management, faculty development, new program development and implementation, curriculum development and evaluation, budgeting, strategic planning, facilities management and technology coordination of a new Physician's Assistant program; 2) oversee enrollment guidance to regional site, staff and faculty in the coordination and instruction of all phases of each programmatic curriculum; 3) establish a link with appropriate college committees and departments involved in health and human services education; 4) explore and secure external funding through preparation of grants, reports, and self-studies related to program development; 5) establish partnerships with local, regional and national institutions regarding new program development; and 6) demonstrate and promote computer literacy and use of educational and distance learning technology.
Minimum Qualifications: - Licensed as a Physician Assistant (NCCPA certified and Illinois State Licensed) and possess a Master's degree in a Healthcare related field
or
- Licensed as a Physician (current Illinois licensure as an allopathic or osteopathic physician and ABMS or AOA-approved specialty board certification);
- Work experience in higher education and/or a health services setting.
