Georgia State University Child Enrichment Center is seeking applicants for a Child Development Specialist position
Duties: Serves as a lead teacher and manages classroom programs.
Examples of Duties:
Plans and implements developmentally appropriate activities.
Assists individual children or small groups of children involved in activities.
Teaches language, social, cognitive and physical skills.
Assures physical safety of children during program activities.
Trains classroom staff and supervises their teaching methods.
Supervises Nursing students, etc. while working in the classroom.
Consults with teachers from other areas.
Conducts workshops for teachers from other areas.
Consults with parents regarding children's progress.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Considerable knowledge of appropriate teaching methods.
Art, story telling, or music skills.
Effective communication skills.
Ability to lift preschool children.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Education, Child Development or a related field and one-year teaching experience; or a combination of education and experience.
Salary Range $34,470
