The Director of Major Gifts for COST is an experienced advancement professional responsible for the planning and implementation of the College’s comprehensive fundraising program. This highly motivated professional will be responsible for raising major and leadership gifts from private sources in support of college current operations, endowments, and other approved projects and capital priorities and fulfill these duties under the direction of the Assistant /Associate Vice President of Advancement for Major Gifts and the Campaign and in close cooperation with the University’s Central Advancement office and the COST dean, senior administration, faculty, and staff.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree; three or more years of related work experience; a deep appreciation for the particular missions and priorities of the college/unit and University, strong communication (written and verbal), organizational, and interpersonal skills; proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office applications, including word processing, spreadsheets and databases; willingness to travel regionally and nationally on a frequent basis; ability to motivate volunteers and donors; self-motivated; champion teamwork in a complex organization; ability to work well in a diverse environment; successful completion of background investigation prior to employment.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s Degree; successful track record in major-gift fundraising in a university setting, or successful six-figure+ individual sales experience.
Salary Range: Salary commensurate with experience
