Job Summary/Basic Function: The Instructor of Nursing is responsible for teaching 27-32 hours per academic year. Teaching includes classroom and clinical instruction. Responsibilities include participation as a member of a teaching team, creating and administering assessments, evaluation of clinical performance and academic advisement. Service on appropriate department and college committees and service within the community is expected. Professional development within the discipline in an area of expertise and as a nurse educator is expected. This is a full-time, tenure track position.

Required Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of teaching experience, preferably in a college setting or an equivalent combination of education and clinical practice is required. The successful candidate must be currently licensed or eligible for licensure in Georgia. Candidate must have at least two (2) years of recent clinical experience either in acute care or in the community.

Required Education: A minimum of a Master's degree in Nursing or M.S.N, with at least 18 semester or 27 quarter graduate hours in Nursing is required. Doctorate is preferred.
GPC is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) with all courses taught by SACS-qualified instructors.

Preferred Qualifications: Ability to teach Nursing on the collegiate level. Ability to teach effectively using a variety of methods, relate to students and faculty from diverse backgrounds, and facilitate student learning. Ability to work in teams and demonstrate strong communication skills. Demonstrated knowledge of instructional technology is required.
