Department Description:
The Business Services team is responsible for supporting all activities related to the procurement and payment of goods and services in support of Georgia Tech's instructional, research, and public service programs. Business Services is comprised of Procurement, Business Systems, Accounts Payable, Travel, Risk Management, Logistics/Surplus Property, and Property Control.
Position Description:
Plan and manage the information systems analysis and support requirements for the Institute's Business Services function consisting of Procurement, Accounts Payable, Travel, Risk Management, Logistics/Surplus Property and Property Control units. Areas overseen include operating systems support and systems implementation, upgrade and troubleshooting. Responsible for setting employee and/or group goals, deciding on organizational structure to meet the goals, assessing employee and/or group performance and providing feedback, and making pay recommendations.
Major Responsibilities to Include:
• Plan, organize, define expectations and evaluate the performance of the Business Systems personnel; provide employee development opportunities.
• Manage the development and production support functions for Business Services information systems to include new system testing, user training and start up and ongoing troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Leads and participates in the investigation and development of new business systems and improvement in existing systems.
• Monitor system performance and customer satisfaction.
Represents Business Services in technology related matters - internal and external to the Institute.
• Participate in Business Services strategic planning efforts from technology related perspective.
Formulate and on approval administer Business Systems budget.
• Oversee analysis of Business Services processes, identify areas for improvement and implement changes and new processes.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related discipline.
Experience:
• Eight to ten years job related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• This job requires advanced knowledge of and skills in the development, installation and maintenance of IT hardware and software of a high degree of complexity and having campus-wide scope and impact.
• Additionally, skills in technical management, project management, strategy development, organization, communications and customer service are required.
