IACUC Attending Veterinarian

Minimum Requirements
Licensed veterianarian with DVM degree from an accredited veterinary program.
Two years experience in laboratory animal research and/or teaching

Preferred
Certification in Laboratory Animal Medicine
5+ years in experience in veterinary practice in a research environment
Experience serving on an IACUC or equivalent as a consulting veterinarian or attending veterinarian

Responsibilities
The IACUC attending veterinarian is the clinical resource for the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee. The Attending Veterinarian reviews all protocols for animal use and amendments thereof, is the point of contact for pre-approval of animal procedures, assists the IACUC Chair in inspections and serves as a voting member of the IACUC. The Attending Veterinarian composes all reports to federal agencies relevant to violations of compliance or accidents related to animal use at GHSU. Protocol review for clinical issues related to animal care. Follow-up meetings with Pls after committee or IEC review to resolve issues with protocols prior to final approval. Regularly scheduled inspections mandated by IACUC and follow-ups from the reports to the GHSU Compliance Hotline. Participating in inspection activities as need by external regulatory agencies including AAALAC and the USDA. Record-keeping and correspondence related to the functions of the IACUC. This includes requests under the Freedom of information Act, reports to OLAW regarding compliance violations and other correspondence as required. Participation and representation of the IACUC as a liaison to LAS management and in other regulatory bodies on campus.

Shift:Days/M-F.
Salary:Minimum: $92,682/annual, Midpoint: $129,755/annual, Maximum: $166,828
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications and experience of candidate.
