Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or in related field and ten years' experience in academic or health care management experience leading support services departments
OR
High school diploma and professional state license(s) in related engineering fields and 15 years' experience in experience academic or health care management experience leading support services departments
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans and specifications
Knowledge in engineering and building maintenance practices
Ability to plan and coordinate major renovation and repair (MRR) projects
Participate, coordinate and assist with master planning for the campus
Ability to plan and manage operational and personnel budgets
Direct knowledge of compliance requirements as they relate to an academic campus setting

Preferred
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or in related field and five years' experience in academic or health care management experience leading support services departments
CHFM designation and/or PE License in addition to minimum qualifications

Responsibilities
The duties include but are not limited to: manage the operation and maintenance activities for the Campus Maintenance Shops, Central Plant, and Utilities Systems; analyze utility consumption and cost; establish and implement department policies and procedures; manage, report, and monitor maintenance shop productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness; develop and manage expense budgets for defined areas of responsibility and assure operation within budget plan; provide support of Facilities construction projects and assist with coordination; annual inventory of tagged equipment; review and update Archibus database as it relates to Facilities routine and preventive maintenance programs; act as liaison between Campus Engineering and hospital; direct scheduled testing of campus emergency systems in accordance with regulatory codes and SACS requirements; provide contingency planning and emergency response plans for utility disruptions to include labor resources (contractors and staff); ensure that all regulatory requirements are met, including TJC, OSHA, NFPA, SPCC, and others; inventory and property record control for items establishing and maintaining goals for customer service and satisfaction; oversee and complete employee performance evaluations; manage and overseeing employee performance, hiring, disciplinary actions, coaching, training, communication, and morale; and develop a management culture in support services based on teamwork, open communication, prudent risk-taking, innovation, mentoring, and accountability.

Pay Grade: 25
Pay Range: Minimum $80,202 - Midpoint $112,283 - Maximum $144,364
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications and experience of candidate.
