Georgia College & State University is accepting applications for Lecturer of Spanish.

The Department of Modern Languages and Cultures invites applications for a Spanish Lecturer. Teaching load: 5 undergraduate Spanish courses per semester at introductory and intermediate levels. Some evening classes may be required. This position is a non-tenure-track, ten-month appointment at the rank of lecturer.

A member of the Council of Public Liberal Arts Colleges (COPLAC), Georgia College enrolls approximately 6,600 undergraduate and graduate students and is prominently cited for educational excellence in a number of leading publications. The university's beautiful and historic campus is located in Milledgeville, which was the 19th century capital of Georgia and is very near the geographic center of the state. Additionally, many of the university's graduate programs are located in nearby Macon and Warner Robins.

Knoweldge Skills and Ability:
Native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English. Demonstrated excellence in teaching. The department especially values faculty participation in student-focused extracurricular activities that foster language learning, scholarly activity, and university or community service.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree or higher in Spanish from an accredited college or university. 18 hours of graduate work in Spanish required. College teaching experience desirable. Candidate must be eligible to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:
Ph.D. preferred. Ability to teach French, German or Italian is desirable but not essential.
