Position Description Summary:
Deputy Director of Legislative Affairs Program
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
The Deputy Director is responsible for curriculum development, teaching four courses per year, participating in student recruitment, admissions, and advising and monitoring student progress. In addition, the Deputy Director will assume primary responsibility for new programs at the state level. This work will include program development and launch, administrative management, faculty identification and training and course development.
A Ph.D. or a terminal degree in political communications, legislative affairs, political science, or related field; experience in the field of applied politics and legislative affairs at the national or state levels; an active research agenda, evidenced by a corpus of papers and publications; and the ability to teach graduate level courses on legislative politics, public policy, executive-legislative relations, parties, elections, recent American political history, and politics and ethics.
Advertised Salary: Salary will be commensurate with experience.
