The person in this position will be an integral part of an admissions team charged with the responsibility of identifying, recruiting and enrolling a large, highly qualified and diverse new student class each year. With the basic infrastructure components addressed, the Office must have the appropriate personnel in place to effectively forge ahead to become a more competitive 21st century model for the management of our daily technical, communication, marketing needs and operations. Strategies for the effective use of evolving communications technologies have become critical to the operation of modern university admissions offices.
The position has extensive responsibility for assisting the Director of Admissions in formulating, interpreting, and implementing policy and typically has direct responsibility for the marketing and communications sphere of the Admissions Office. Additionally, the Associate Director of Admissions will manage a recruitment territory: travel to high schools and college fairs meeting with students/parents/school counselors/alumni, application review, and limited travel. Some weekend and evening work will be required. The position exercises substantial independence of administrative authority and discretion and is authorized to independently commit the institution to admissions decisions.
