Fayetteville State University invites applicationsfora Lecturer/ Assistant Professor position to begin inAugust 2012. Fayetteville State University is a constituent institution of the University of North Carolina and the second oldest public institution of higher education in the state. The Department of Nursing seeks a committed, scholar and nursing educator, capable of contributing to the continuedexpansion of the RN-BSN degree program, rebuilding the four-year generic licensure program, and the development of a MSN program. The candidate must be able and willing to teach across curricula.
Applicants for the Assistant/ Associate Professor position must be eligible for licensure as an RN in North Carolina, (certification as a nurse practitioner is preferred)with an MSN, and earned doctorate from an accredited institution, extensive nursing teaching and clinical experience in Medical/Surgical Nursinga publication record sufficient for being eligible for tenure track.
Applicants for the Lecturer Position must also be eligible for licensure as an RN in North Carolina, with an MSN from an accredited institution, extensive nursing teaching and/or clinical experience in Medical/Surgical Nursing.
A successful candidate must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills; evidence of cooperation and collaboration with staff, administrators, colleagues, and members of the nursing community; curriculum development skills; interest and experience with technology common in nursing practice, education, and online instruction; and knowledge of computer applications commonly used in nursing, academic and administrative fields.
