Assistant\Associate Professor of Technology
Fairmont State University and Pierpont Community & Technical College, with a 120-acre main campus in Fairmont, WV, is part of the state’s growing high technology corridor with a metro area of about 50,000 residents.
Duties and Responsibilities The successful candidate must be able to teach Electronics Engineering Technology in an ABET accredited program that is applied in nature.
Participate in instruction and evaluation; student advising; committee assignments; faculty meetings; consultation; in-service programs; preparation for teaching; professional and scholarly development; research; accreditation; teaching online and using distance education technologies; development of new courses; student recruitment and retention; and participate in economic and community engagement activities.
Minimum Required Education Master's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, Engineering Technology, or closely related field (Doctoral degree preferred).
Required Licenses and/or Certifications Successful completion of the F.E. exam
Type and Amount of Experience Needed Minimum of three years of professional experience preferred for candidates without a terminal degree.
Demonstrated ability to teach electronics engineering technology from an applied perspective.
Preferred Qualifications Doctoral degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, Engineering Technology, or closely related field. Successful completion of the P.E. Exam. Successful candidate must possess excellent communication skills, commitment to teaching excellence and be self-motivated to develop partnerships with industry and/or applied research programs.
