Elizabethtown College seeks an experienced administrator to direct essential support services for its academic mission. The Vice President for Administration (VPA) is a member of the senior leadership team and oversees five units which provide essential support for the campus as a whole, both academic and non-academic: Campus Services, College Store; Dining Services, Facilities Management, and Human Resources. Reporting to the president as one of five vice presidents, the VPA helps oversee changes in the College workforce and facilities and serves as the administrative liaison for the College to the Building and Grounds Committee of the Board of Trustees. The VPA aligns the work of the five units with the College’s Strategic Plan; ensures the high performance of essential support services; works closely with the Provost and Vice President for Finance in promoting overall institutional effectiveness and efficiency; and helps promote a respectful, diverse, and supportive work environment for all employees.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred; minimum of five years of senior managerial experience required; preference for those with experience in higher education administration; excellent communication and collaborative skills; strong financial management; ability to carry out performance evaluations; problem solving; capability to conceive and carry out long range planning. Ability to travel occasionally; driver’s license required; some evening and weekend work expected. Start date: August 1, 2013, or negotiable. Salary: negotiable depending on experience and qualifications.
