This is professional work responsible for supervising the financial aid service activities. Work will include the supervision of financial aid services staff. Individual will be responsible for counseling students regarding financial aid matters.
Supervises the daily activities of financial aid customer service staff, ensuring high quality customer service is provided efficiently and accurately and college operating procedures are followed by all staff.
Supervises, coaches, counsels and evaluates assigned staff.
Oversees and assists in the daily activities of financial aid services staff including counseling students; receiving, reviewing, and processing applications, and handling issues related to financial aid services.
Maintains the integrity of the financial aid processing and record keeping process.
Acts as the office manager for the department, ensuring an adequate supply of office materials, publications, and forms are available for the operation of the office.
Performs quality control for financial aid records to ensure accurate processing of financial aid awards and information.
In collaboration with the Director, develops and implements financial aid procedures and ensures compliance with federal and state laws and regulations, and college operating procedures.
Adheres to all College, financial aid, FERPA and related policies, regulations and procedures.
Attends and participates in staff meetings and other appropriate college committee meetings. Serves on committees or special task force teams as requested by the Director.
Evening and weekend duties may be necessary within the normal workweek.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education and two (2) years professional experience in financial aid or related professional experience;
OR
Associate's degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education and four (4) years professional experience in financial aid or related professional experience.
Demonstrated experience using a personal computer and software such as MS Office and electronic mail.
Experience as a customer service supervisor.
Demonstrated ability to:
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and the public.
- Work in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
- Analyze fiscal data and prepare accurate accounting reports and statements.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education.
Experience with SunGard Banner software.
Familiarity with college financial aid.
