Job Summary/Essential Functions: This is an open and continuous recruitment. Three days' notice will be provided prior to closure of recruitment.

This position performs senior level activities in database administration as an Oracle Database Administrator. The focus of this position is on the implementation, administration, and management of enterprise wide administrative database management systems.

The Oracle DBA exercises discretion and independent judgment to manage, coordinate, and plan for the development and support of the enterprise administrative database management systems and ensuring the reliability, stability, and integrity of the enterprise database management and reporting systems. Additional areas of responsibility include the senior oversight and project management and security standards under the guidance of the CIO and in conjunction with the Director of Information Systems. Additionally, the Oracle DBA plans and coordinates the deployment of other application systems that may be departmental or unit-wide tactical applications, even though these systems may not be enterprise institutional applications.

Degree required by: Date of applicationMinimum Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

o Four years of information technology experience such as:
o Consulting, analyzing, designing, programming, installing and/or maintaining computer software applications, hardware, telecommunications, or network infrastructure equipment, directing projects, providing customer or technical support in information technology; or
o Administering or supervising staff who performed work in any of these information technology disciplines; or
o Equivalent education or experience.

POSITION SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:

o Bachelor's degree
o Significant work related experience (four or more years) in the area of senior information systems management
o Four years of specific information technology experience in database development/administration, data warehousing, data analysis, database design and programming with one year of this experience having senior, primary or lead responsibiilty including project leadership
o Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) in database administration (must possess within six months of hiring)
o One to three years experience as a senior project manager or lead, with the ability to work in a team and project management structure, including experience working on project teams with team leaders other than direct line managers.
o Experience in using a well-structured life cycle management process for implementation of changes in application systems, including experience with project management and configuration management processes
o Experience implementing, managing, and administering complex, enterprise wide systems
o Experience with Microsoft Office suite
o Demonstrated abilities in each of the following areas:
o Working independently.
o Prioritize and work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
o Effectively communicate in both spoken and written form to diverse constituencies, both technical and non-technical.
o Foster a positive work environment for information systems staff, as well as provide leadership and a high degree of motivation to those staff.
o Additionally, candidates must offer a demonstrated high degree of interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency or diversity

Preferred Qualifications: o Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) in application server
o Knowledge and experience working in a higher education and/or financial environments in areas dealing with information systems management and support systems
