Position Summary: The Training Specialist will plan and develop training based on assessed needs using in-house resources as well as those available outside the Training Branch such as universities, experts in their fields, private contractors, etc. Responsibilities include the following:
Assist in or lead development of new training and training materials, as well as revisions to training materials as a result of changing policy;
Develop on-line trainings and tutorials as well as web-based training and Blackboard Courses;
Training Delivery;
Motivate and train new and tenured Protection and Permanency caseworkers and case managers on policy and procedures;
Provide face-to face instruction to various size groups of participants from Department for Community Based Services staff;
Structure and provide training delivery on a county, regional or statewide basis as determined by identified requirements of a curriculum and/or by requests to address specific needs from field staff;
Use on-line training techniques so that participants can be trained in an on-the-job atmosphere, i.e., Blackboard, web-based, etc;
Facilitation/ Consultation
Provide facilitation or consultation as requested;
Collaborate with various community partners, sister agencies, and universities to work on training projects and presentations to educate Cabinet employees and the general public;
Write Reports;
Provide feedback to supervisors on employee performance during training events;
Provide feedback as requested related to training courses;
Ensure that all appropriate reports are prepared and submitted according to established guidelines;
Provide information for auditors as required or requested and
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Educational Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required.
Minimum Licensure/Certification Qualifications:
Minimum Experience Qualifications: Four years of experience is required.
