Assistant Professor - Construction Management

Position Summary: The Department of Applied Engineering and Technology at Eastern Kentucky University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position to begin August 2013. The program's emphasis is on construction management and is accredited by ACCE. Primary teaching responsibilities include but are not limited to the following fields: Fundamentals of Design Theory (Statics, Strength of Materials, Soil Mechanics), Analysis and Design of Structural Systems (Structures, HVAC, Plumbing, Mechanical, Electrical), and Estimating. The candidate is expected to participate in departmental, college and university committee assignments; student recruitment; course, laboratory and program development; appropriate service and scholarly activities; and articulation with business and industry.
Minimum Educational Qualifications: The candidate must have an undergraduate degree and at least one graduate degree in a construction-related field.
Must be ABD to be considered at the "Instructor" rank. Upon completion of the doctorate, rank and salary adjustments will be made to the rank of Assistant Professor.
A doctorate is required for appointment at the Assistant Professor rank and is required for tenure.
Degree(s) must be in Construction Management or a related field and must be from a regionally accredited or internationally recognized institution.
Minimum Licensure/Certification Qualifications: Teaching and industry experience required.
