PEDIATRICS (GENERAL) - - CLINICAL DIRECTOR FACULTY POSITION
East Carolina University, a constituent institution of the University of North Carolina, is a doctoral institution with an enrollment of over 27,000 students and approximately 4,500 faculty and staff.
Job Description: The Clinic Director reports to the Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics through the Division Chief of General Pediatrics and is responsible for the overall day to day functions of the general pediatric outpatient clinic.
The Clinic Director is responsible for the planning and directing of all aspects of the clinic's medical policies and programs. The Clinic Director will work closely with nursing, the Pediatric Residency Program Director, and Medical Student Clerkship Director to promote efficient, high quality care while providing excellent medical education for residents, medical students, nursing students, and other learners.
The Clinic Director oversees QI activities; provides administrative oversight of clinic operations; provides for the supervision of physician extenders; and, ensures compliance with regulations.
In addition, the Clinic Director will directly participate in teaching and patient care activities.
Fixed term or tenure track position available at the Associate Professor or Professor level.
Minimum Qualifications: Must have excellent communication skills.
Must be board certified in General Pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics.
Must have a current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in North Carolina.
Must have at least three years of leadership experience, preferably with added leadership education demonstrated by being awarded an MBA, CPE or similar degrees.
Leadership experience is defined as having a responsible position, with at least three people reporting to the individual, and the responsible individual reporting to the head of a division or department in an academic institution.
Should have experience in quality improvement activities with a documentable track record of accomplished quality improvement projects, providing verbal and written reports on this work, and successfully engaging others in the work.
