Job Description: Assistant/Associate Professor (Re-advertised). The Department Literacy Studies, English Education, and History Education in the College of Education at East Carolina University is seeking applicants and nominations for a tenure-track, nine-month, full-time faculty position available August 12, 2013. Rank and salary: Commensurate with qualifications.
Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate reading/literacy education courses in both face-to-face and online environments; participating in graduate level research projects; conducting an active research/publication agenda; and providing service to the university, community, and profession.
Minimum Qualifications: Minimum qualifications include: (1) Ph.D. or Ed.D. degree, from an appropriately accredited institution, earned by July 15, 2013, in Reading or Literacy Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or related area with concentration in Reading or Literacy; (2) successful teaching experience in public school setting; eligibility for NC teaching licensure; demonstrated potential for research and (3) scholarship experience in collaborative work with public schools/universities; and demonstrated experience in college teaching.
Special consideration will be given to applicants with experience in teaching reading/literacy in K-5 with an interest in working with diverse populations in K-12 public school contexts.
