East Carolina University, a constituent institution of the University of North Carolina, is a doctoral institution with an enrollment of over 27,000 students and approximately 4,500 faculty and staff.

Job Description: Adult Education (1 Year Only). The Department of Higher, Adult, and Counselor Education in the College of Education at East Carolina University is seeking applicants and nominations for a temporary, nine-month, full-time, fixed-term faculty position available August 12, 2013. Consideration for renewal, if funds are available. Rank and salary: Commensurate with qualifications.

Teach four courses per semester in adult education, including appropriate use of technology/delivery of distance education courses; advise students in program; provide appropriate service to the adult education profession, university, college, and department.

Minimum Qualifications: Requires earned doctorate in adult education or closely related field; experience teaching higher education settings or comparable experience; participation in state, regional, national or international adult education organizations; and evidence of professional commitment to cultural competence within the field of adult education.

Prefer experience in the community college system, human resource development, or education in the military; teaching adult education theory and research-related courses; and record of research and publication.

All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
