MICROBIOLOGY - - RESEARCH INSTRUCTOR (FACULTY POSITION)

Job Description: The Research Instructor is responsible for independent and collaborative development, implementation, and analysis of scientific research in the discipline of medically important spirochetes.
Responsibilities include but not limited to management of all aspects of Borrelia burgdorferi pathogenesis research, including hypothesis development, literature review, collection of pilot data and report writing.
The Research Instructor is expected to develop and implement new ideas to study the infectious life cycle of B. burgdorferi. He/she is expected to prepare manuscripts for publications and attend scientific meetings to present data.
The Research Instructor will supervise research students, overseeing data collection procedures, supervising experimental procedures, review of data for quality control, and the development of independent and collaborative presentations and publications.
This position is contingent upon the availability of grant funding.
Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. from an appropriately accredited institution with expertise in spirochete biology and host-pathogen interactions.
