Job Description: Manage maintenance, repair of facilities of Campus Living. The major facilities are Residence Halls and Dining facilities. These facilities account for over 1.3 million sq. ft. of space and a significant amount of Facilities Maintenance, East Campus work. Establish and maintain maintenance and repair plan for these facilities. Direct housekeeping services. Manage maintenance contracts.
This position is the key liaison between Facilities Services and Campus Living and will continuously be in contact with management from these organizations. This position is often in contact with university officials, faculty and staff, building occupants, contractors, vendors, architects and engineers, utility company engineers, State Construction department engineers and the general public in the performance of its duties. It regularly works with Communication and Information Services, Environmental Health and Safety, Handicapped Student Services, Public Safety, and other departments.
Graduation from a four-year college with a major in mechanical or electrical engineering preferred. It is desirable that the person be at least an EIT (Engineer-in-Training); a registered Professional Engineer is preferred. Five years' experience beyond college in major building operations/maintenance and/or design are preferred and would enhance the candidate's qualifications.
No certification or license is required by statute for this position. EIT status is a desired, and PE registration is preferred.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in the engineering discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. Some positions may require licensure by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Pay will be commensurate with applicant's competencies as well as budget, equity, and market considerations.
