Job Description: Assistant/Associate Professor. The Department of Special Education, Foundations, and Research in the College of Education at East Carolina University is seeking applicants and nominations for a tenure-track, nine-month, full-time faculty position available August 18, 2014. Rank and salary: Commensurate with qualifications.
Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and/or graduate K-12 special education (adapted curriculum undergraduate, low-incidence disability graduate, and service classes offered to general education teacher candidates) courses on campus and/or online via distance education delivery; supervising practicum experiences and internships; engaging in an active research and publication agenda including grant writing; and providing service to the university, community, and profession. Special consideration will be given to applicants with expertise in: augmentative communication, positioning, and learners with medical complexities.
Minimum Qualifications: Minimum qualifications include: (1) Ph.D. or Ed.D. degree from an appropriately accredited institution earned by July 15, 2014, in special education or related field; (2) three years of teaching in a K-12 setting, preferred; (3) documented experience in college teaching of face-to-face and/or on-line courses; (4) collaborative work with public schools; and (5) eligibility for NC Teacher Licensure.
