Our Career Services Advisors are responsible for developing externship sites, monitoring student extern performance, and providing students and graduates with employment assistance. This is a great opportunity for the right candidates to get their foot in the door of an established, growth oriented, reputable company.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Experience in a department responsible for supporting employee needs, preferably career training or job placement, desirable.
  • Provides one-on-one employment assistance to both students and graduates.
  • Answers student questions with regard to the externship, employment, and placement processes.
  • Serves as the liaison between the student and the externship site or employer.
  • Ensures that the student is prepared to begin the job search process by assisting with resume writing, interview techniques, phone skills, networking, and other job search processes.
  • Provides assistance to students with career preparation concerns throughout their tenure at the College.
  • Keeps accurate records and phone logs, as appropriate.
  • Assists with campus advisory board activities and graduation ceremonies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Guide, assist and provide graduates with job leads.
  • Advise graduates on interview techniques and critique their resumes.
  • Generate employer database through cold calling, mailing, and site visits.
  • Establish a working relationship with existing and new companies.
  • Responsible for weekly placements and 90 day employment verification.
  • Meet with department Directors on a regular basis.



Qualifications:

  • High School completion required, Associates degree preferred.
  • Strong telephone skills.
  • Strong clerical and administrative background.
  • Experience in job recruitment or related fields preferred.
  • Demonstrate ability to interact with others on a professional level using excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to guide and evaluate student progress in the career planning area.
  • Computer literate and knowledge of Internet job search techniques.
