This job expired 2 weeks ago.Dean College is seeking a highly motivated, experienced and detail-oriented Director of Institutional Research and Registrar. In his/her capacity as Director of Institutional Research, the incumbent is responsible for coordinating, managing, and reporting on internal and external data collection related to institutional research and strategic decision-making (including IPEDS, NEASC and the National Clearinghouse). This individual will also participate in and provide supervision, leadership, and professional expertise in the research, reporting, and assessment functions of the College.
As Director of Institutional Research and Registrar, this person will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of student academic records; gathering and analyzing student data for internal and external reporting; monitoring the consistent administration of college academic policies and procedures; and managing the complete cycle of course scheduling, registration, grading, and certification of degree candidates. Duties include: preparation of the master course schedules, final examination schedules, and the college calendar in cooperation with academic and student affairs; administration of student course registration; audit of students’ progress towards degree completion and certifying eligibility of degree candidates; processing and distributing mid-semester grades for full-time students and final grades for all students for each of the five (5) terms in the academic calendar; and evaluating, approving, and allocating course credits from non-Dean sources. The Institutional Research and Registrar’s Office is also part of the College’s Center for Student Administrative Services, a one-stop-shop for students, and the Director of Institutional Research and Registrar will be cross-trained in basic student accounts and financial aid functions, as are the Associate and Assistant Registrars. Other duties include supervision of staff and the management of standard office responsibilities.
Required Qualifications: A Master’s degree is required; five to eight years professional experience in an Institutional Research or Registrar’s Office; strong written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated ability to analyze, interpret and present data, broad understanding of and experience with student information systems (preferably Datatel Colleague) and reporting software such as Intrinsik Informer; expertise in Excel and familiarity with other Microsoft Office applications; ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure; demonstrated excellence in customer service. Excellent interpersonal communication skills are necessary to work effectively with students, faculty, staff and alumni to accomplish position responsibilities. Accuracy with data entry and attention to detail are essential.
