Dalton State College seeks to fill two tenure-track assistant/associate professor positions in biology. A Ph.D. in hand or expected by the start date of August, 2012 and a commitment to a student-centered teaching-learning process are required. Applicants with successful college teaching experience may be given preference. Responsibilities of the position include teaching 27-29 credit hours per academic year, academic advising, service, and other duties as assigned by the chair. Teaching assignments may be day or evening, possibly at off-campus locations. A complete application must include (1) a letter of interest (2) a statement of teaching philosophy, (3) a current curriculum vitae, (4) three current letters of reference, and (5) transcripts of all college work. Review of applications will begin March 16, 2012, and will continue until the position is filled. An on-campus interview will be required prior to an official offer of the position. A background check will be processed for any candidate who accepts an offer of employment.
