Located in Dalton, Georgia, at the center of the world’s greatest concentration of flooring production, Dalton State offers scenic beauty and easy access to urban areas. The city of Dalton is located in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, and the College enjoys a heavily wooded campus on Interstate 75 about 30 miles south of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and 85 miles north of Atlanta, Georgia.
•Required: Ph.D. in communication (with a minimum of 18 semester/30 quarter hours in communication), ABD considered.
•A primary interest in, and firm commitment to, a student-centered teaching-learning process.
•Applicants with successful college teaching experience may be given preference.
Responsibilities of the position include
•Teaching nine three-semester-hour communication and public speaking courses per academic year, usually five in the fall and four in the spring. Teaching assignments may be day, evening, or weekends, possibly at off-campus locations.
•Academic advising, committee work, planning and assessment, other College and community service, and professional development.
•Other such duties as assigned by the chair of Communication.
