GENERAL DUTIES: Provides reference services to the law school community, teaches in the first-year Legal Research Program, and assists the Faculty Research Services Program.  Conducts and publishes scholarly work consistent with a tenure-track position.  Participates in the Law Library's collegial administrative process and the Law School's governance process, and performs related functions as may be assigned.

CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION: As a member of the law library faculty, the Emerging Technologies Librarian will be responsible for exploring and implementing new technologies to enhance future library services, including the provision of virtual library services, developing multimedia library tutorials, evaluating services that impact library support of faculty scholarship, and advancing the use of educational technology in classroom settings to enhance the Legal Research program.  The Emerging Technologies Librarian will also teach in the Legal Research program, provide reference services as part of the Reference desk rotation, and participate in the Law Library's collegial administrative process and the Law School's governance process in addition to other duties that may be assigned by the Director of Law Library.

The position is expected to be filled at either the entry level or midlevel range, depending upon the experience of qualified candidates.

This position may require evening and weekend duties.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A J.D. or L.L.B. from an accredited law school plus an M.L.S. degree is required.  Also required is demonstrated or promised evidence of significant success as a faculty member, interest in productive scholarship, and the ability to teach successfully and to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: - Must be knowledgeable about existing and emerging library and educational technologies.
- A commitment to a customer service philosophy and the ability to work as part of a team are also required.
- Academic law library experience including reference, instruction in traditional and computer-assisted legal research methods, and experience in the training and instruction of groups are preferred.  At least two years experience working with digital technologies or related electronic services (e.g. virtual reference services, classroom technology experience).
- Must have the ability to meet the responsibilities of this tenure-track appointment which includes scholarly publications.
- Excellent interpersonal and oral/written communications skills essential, as are a strong service orientation and ability to work well with others in a team atmosphere.  Self-motivated applicants interested in proactive service are highly encouraged to apply regardless of level of law library experience.

COMPENSATION: Law School Library Assistant Professor:  $43,306 - $98,840
Law School Library Associate Professor:  $56,163 - $120,876
(Commensurate with experience)
