Tenure-track positions in Spanish. Cornell College, a private undergraduate liberal arts college, invites applications for two (2) tenure-track positions in Spanish. The college seeks two generalists able to teach language courses at all levels with specializations in a) Peninsular Literature or b) Latin American Literature. The successful candidates will each teach six undergraduate courses per year selected from the introductory language sequence, upper-division courses (including different periods and genres) and the College’s First-year Program. They must also be willing to accompany and instruct students in College-sponsored study abroad programs on a three-year rotation and to advise co-curricular activities within the department. Candidates must have native or near-native fluency in Spanish and a commitment to creative, interdisciplinary undergraduate education in a liberal arts residential college. Ph.D. required; demonstrated success with technology in the classroom and college teaching experience preferred. Cornell College has attracted national attention for its distinctive academic calendar under which faculty teach, and students take, one course at a time in month-long terms.
